Burcu Dedeoglu is an Associate Professor of Chemistry whose research is motivated by a fundamental interest in understanding how molecular structure shapes reactivity and function in chemical and biological systems. Her work combines quantum chemical methods with molecular simulations to explore reaction mechanisms, molecular interactions, and structure–property relationships in catalysis, biomolecular systems, and functional materials.

She approaches scientific problems with an emphasis on mechanistic understanding and careful analysis, seeking to relate electronic structure to observable chemical behavior in diverse molecular environments. Her academic development has been enriched by international research experiences and interdisciplinary collaborations, which continue to inform her perspective on computational chemistry.

She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Boğaziçi University, where her doctoral research was recognized with the Boğaziçi University Doctoral Thesis Award.
